The Anglo-Saxon press revealed, on January 7, that the daughter of Cindy Crawford and the interpreter of Elvis Presley in the biopic by Baz Luhrmann had ended their relationship.
They embodied one of the flagship couples of Gen Z. The American tabloid TMZ revealed on January 7 that Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler had separated. The information has since been relayed by numerous Anglo-Saxon press titles which claim that the couple would have ended their relationship shortly before the new year. Until proven otherwise, their separation is not linked to any deception or scandal in particular, as is often customary among celebrities. The 23-year-old model and the 33-year-old actor reportedly parted ways on good terms.
A notable absence
According to American media, the separation of Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler would be the reason why the latter was not present during the young woman's family vacation. The daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber celebrated the transition to 2025 with her parents and her brother Presley in Los Cabos, Mexico.
If the absence of the actor was so notable, it is because, since the formalization of their relationship in December 2021, the two young people have never left each other. Austin Butler was even present at the Halloween party organized every year by Casamigos, the tequila brand founded by Rande Gerber and George Clooney.
Together, they have walked numerous red carpets such as that of the MET Gala and the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, or even that of the Oscars in 2023. Kaia Gerber was also very present during the cinema previews of the one which was then her boyfriend. On June 17, they were filmed exchanging a stolen kiss during the premiere of The Bikeriders in Los Angeles.

A “sacred” private life
Very silent about their private lives, Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler have always refused to talk about their relationship in interviews. In February 2024, the model gave her reasons to the magazine WSJ . “Honestly, I feel like few things in my life are private, and that's one of the things I try to keep as sacred as possible,” she said. It's hard to keep a separation private when you're Kaia Gerber.
