2025, a rich year for the National Center for Costume and Stage

After the opening of a new space dedicated to scenography in 2023, and on the eve of its 20th anniversary, the Moulins National Costume and Stage Center will open on February 15, 2025 two new permanent rooms dedicated to the specificities and history of stage costumewhich complement the offer already offered to the public. The opportunity for visitors to discover all year round a selection of emblematic costumes from the CNCS collection, rich in 10,000 costumes and numerous accessories.

Starting April 5, the National Center for Costume and Stage will celebrate with an event exhibition, the creativity of Christian Lacroix as costume designer and more recently director and set designer. With more than 120 costumes from various stage genres – theater, opera, dance and numerous iconographic documents, Christian Lacroix and the stage will immerse the visitor in the unique universe of the couturier.

Finally, this year will also mark for the National Center for Costume and Stage the launch, in co-publication with Silvana editions, of a collection of works entitled “The CNCS notebooks”. Devoted to creators, to the stage costume professions or even to emblematic costumes from the collection, the first issue which will appear on January 15, 2025 is dedicated to the great costume designer Patrice Cauchetier. Disappeared on July 15, 2024, he was the accomplice of the greatest directors – Jean-Pierre Vincent, Jean-Marie Villégier, Alain Françon, …
