Discover the Micro-Madness: program for the 1st quarter of 2025

The Micro-Folie digital museum in Saint-Jean-de-Luz opened its doors last October at ground floor of villa Ducontenia (park side).

This gallery virtual offers a innovative artistic experience with the possibility of discovering thousands of works : paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, contemporary dance, music…

It provides access to thousands of masterpieces that are part of the collections of major museums thanks to a collaboration of 12 founding national cultural establishments* and a network of 205 cultural establishments partners whether national, regional or international.

*the Pompidou Center, the Château de , the Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de , the Festival, the Institute of the Arab World, the Louvre, the Picasso-Paris National Museum, the Orsay Museum, the museum du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, the Paris National Opera, Grand PalaisRmn, Universcience and La Villette.

Opening days/times and audiences

Access is open and free for all.

For individualsthe Micro-madness is open every Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m..
This first quarter, a discovery of the collections is offered, as well as a presentation of the rest of the system, namely the virtual reality headsets (2 are available) and the Arte content.

For groupss (school, leisure center or association), the Micro-Folie is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Are proposed specially designed animations to meet the needs of visitors.

January

Featured collection: “European royal residences”

Wednesday January 8 from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. – The little kings’ snack, for children aged 6-8 (8 places). Children will discover the European Royal Residences collection and create their own royal crown. At the end of the entertainment, the Court will share a royal snack!

Thursday January 23, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Night paintings on the occasion of the “Heritages” reading nights, from 12 years old (28 places). An invitation to delve into the mysteries, emotions and beauty of the night as it has inspired the greatest artists. To discover how the night was captured on canvas.

Collection in the spotlight: “ Auvergne Rhône Alpes »

Wednesday February 12 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Venice Carnival and creative workshop, for children aged 6 and over (8 places). Children will discover carnival-inspired artwork and create their own mask!

Mars

Collection in the spotlight: “ Corse »

Wednesday March 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Shapes and colors for Early Childhood Week, from 4 years old (8 places). Little ones are invited to discover shapes and colors through works of art, before creating their own painting inspired by contemporary art.
