Christian Ramis left his family a few hours before the new year, at the age of 65 and at the end of a long illness which has left him only short respites since 2020. This pure sugar Aturin was born in the district of la Gare, among a large group of siblings, and admitted that throughout his youth, he had hated school and that he compensated for this lack with music, writing and humor.
Throughout his professional life, he made the most of his qualities of imagination, creativity and sensitivity, both in writing and music. He was a hard worker: from the age of 17, he played keyboard in ballroom orchestras and experienced around ten of them. Author and composer, he has officially submitted 350 works to Sacem and has frequented countless establishments for his piano bar performances: on the Landes coast, in the casinos of the Pyrenees, the famous Babylon’s in Mons, etc. He has also accompanied a number of stars on tour in the South-West, as well as, of course, the locals Etcheverry, Olaïzola and Félicien (gold record in 2002). As a teacher, he never neglected to give a helping hand to very young artists. Finally, he loved the conviviality of the Gascony Men’s Choir, of which he was the musician and arranger for four years.

He had married Corinne, whom he met in a Pau music store, and formed a close couple with her, called Kiki and Coco, and showed himself, despite his illness, to be “kind and considerate until the end”. Together, they had two children, Stella and Léo, now aged 32 and 27.
Christian Ramis’ smile was not a simple facial expression: it was striking because it immediately released all his inner light, his benevolence, his listening skills and his natural goodness.
If he left smiling, it was certainly because death put an end to his suffering, unbearable but silent, but also because he was deeply Christian. A few days before his end, he had a priest come to religiously celebrate his marriage to Corinne. He constantly asked his friends to honor him by not being sad when he passed away.
The funeral of Christian Ramis will take place on Tuesday January 7, at 10:30 a.m., in the cathedral of Aire-sur-l’Adour.
