For the holidays, the gin designed by Mert Alas and Steve Wilson will be presented in a luxurious box.

Photographer Mert Alas, of the famous duo Mert & Marcus, has signed a luxurious box containing, in addition to his own gin, Seventy One, cocktail glasses and an edition of Oscar Wilde. A drink with decadentist accents imagined as “night water”.

Everything on the planet of muses and magnetic creatures – from Lady Gaga to Kylie Minogue, including Charlotte Rampling and Björk – paraded in front of the lens of Mert Alas and that of his sidekick, Marcus Piggott, known as the label Mert & Marcus. But to develop this exceptional gin, the photographer of Turkish origin, based in London, joined forces with the pope of whiskey, Steve Wilson, who developed, like a perfumer, a subtle process of distillation for each plant in order to extract its aromatic quintessence. The precious nectar is then plunged into a long sleep of 71 nights, during which it passes into three different types of barrels. Hence its name: Seventy One.

Dry ou en cocktail

Launched in October 2023, this “night water”, with an amber color and elegant octagonal base bottle, closed with a black metal screw cap, was designed to be enjoyed dry or in a cocktail. The best mixologists in the world have taken up it with enthusiasm, such as Simone Caporale of Sips in Barcelona or Nicholas Peratinos of the Chiltern Firehouse in London.

The photographer imagined a luxurious box containing a bottle of Seventy One, as well as three cocktail glasses and a red volume of the Portrait de Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Read by the fireplace with your glass of Golden Martini, Mert Alas’s favorite cocktail, within reach.
