The two artists, friends for ten years, unveiled this title about peace on December 31. Final song of 2024 from Nazim, who released a new track every day of the year.
The year 2024 ended with a call for peace, in music. On December 31, Nazim and Amir revealed the title In fronta duet in which the two singers unite their voices against the war. Nazim, in the columns of Le Parisien, insists on the symbolism of this song, while the conflict between Israel and Hamas has raged for more than a year in the Middle East:
“I’m coming full circle with a duet with my friend Amir, a song for peace between a Jew and an Arab.”
This loop is that of the challenge that Nazim launched at the end of 2023: to release one song per day throughout 2024. A bet that he kept, sinceIn front is the 366th title that he unveiled during this leap year, which counted as many days.
“If all roads lead us to war, perhaps there is another road to draw,” sing the two artists, one French of Algerian origin, the other Franco-Israeli, before singing the chorus:
“If I had been born in your place, in the camp opposite, I would love you too // If we had the audacity to no longer face each other, we would love each other too.”
“My friend for ten years”
“With my brother Amir, we wanted to do something that talks about peace,” Nazim explains in an Instagram video. “Because he and I shouldn’t have been on the same side, normally. Lots of things mean that if we didn’t know each other, we wouldn’t love each other. And we love each other, you don’t know how (…) He’s been my friend for ten years.” Nazim notably co-wrote I searchedthe title that revealed Amir at Eurovision 2016.
After a career as a songwriter, during which he wrote hits for Kendji Girac, Claudio Capéo, Florent Pagny, Hoshi and Louane, Nazim is preparing to emerge from the shadows. “In 2025, I will take my courage in both hands, release my first album with the best songs I have written this year and, I hope, give concerts,” he declares to Le Parisien.
More than a year of war
This is the second time that Amir has spoken about the situation in the Middle East in song. In September, he revealed the title Supernovain which he spoke of the killings at the Israeli Tribe of Nova festival, one of the places targeted by Hamas’ vast terrorist operation on October 7, 2023. 364 people died at the festival site, in the Negev desert.
