The American actor John Capodice, who notably appeared in the series New York, judicial police et General Hospitaland in comedy Ace Ventura alongside Jim Carrey, died on December 30. He was 83 years old.
The cause of his death has not been released. Capodice was “a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him,” said the New Jersey funeral home that announced his death, reports Deadline.
Born in 1941, John Capodice was a much-loved second knife in American cinema and television. He began his career in the 1970s and was still working before his death. In 2023, he was a voice actor.

John Capodice, who had also been a soldier in Korea in the 1960s, had his first major role in the series Ryan’s Hope before landing an important role in the long-running soap opera General Hospital.
On television, John Capodice also played in the sitcom Seinfeld and in several hit dramas like At the White House et Six Feet Under as well as in the detective series New York, judicial police.
On the cinema side, he had played in two Oliver Stone films (Wall StreetThen The Doors) as well as in comedy Ace Ventura, dog and cat detective with Jim Carrey and the action thriller Speed.
