Even more than in recent years, the container will have surpassed the content in the ICI Télé humorous magazine.
In addition to the rather disappointing texts, even the majority of the imitations left me perplexed. At very few moments I said to myself: what a good parody.
Not that the performers were bad, but none of them really stood out with a brilliant performance.
Usually so successful, the opening of Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais will not leave an impression on us. The comedian was better in the sketch evoking the closure of La Tulipe, with the ghost of Gilles Latulippe coming to haunt the “Tarlais neighbor” who complained about the noise. Shorter, it would have been more effective.
Completed at the last moment due to recent events, the parody of Survivor Quebectransformed into “Survivor Ottawa”, is to be included in the column of the most successful sketches, with a Justin Trudeau with his back full of knives, who hangs on thanks to his immunity, despite the opposing tribe, unanimous in eliminating him. Perhaps a last imitation of the Prime Minister for Simon-Olivier Fecteau, also director of Bye bye for the ninth consecutive year.
Although visually successful, the pastiche of Réjean Tremblay and his partner Julie Bertrand, played by Claude Legault and Christine Beaulieu, could never be as funny as the original. Jean-René Dufort did much better earlier by going to visit the couple in Florida and accompanying an iguana hunter in the field, one of the best segments ofInfoman 2024.
Desjardins was not spared for his Canadian flag on National Patriots Day, this time taking Ginette Reno for Félix Leclerc and Pauline Marois for La Poune.
A few smiles during the parody of the series “Les zarmes”, “TV with not a cent”. Good flash also to invite François Legault and Pierre Fitzgibbon to a casino table to bet 700 million dollars on Northvolt.
“At worst, we’ll start again on the third link!” says the Prime Minister played by Claude Legault, in front of Fitz played by Sylvain Marcel.
For once we had a parody of Chefs!we would have expected better, despite the good flash of being confronted by the leaders of the provincial parties. There were still some good lines: to Paul St-Pierre Plamondon who was not comfortable cooking with a woke, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois replied: “It’s not a woke, it’s a wok!”
Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, whose Meubles RD ads were refused by -, would certainly find himself in the Bye bye. But the sketch where Guylaine Tremblay repeated it, this time filming herself with the n-word (“dwarf”), fell flat.
The only funny sentence in the sketch: “It’s the first time I’ve seen a vegetable that plants itself”, which Marthe Laverdière will say to him, also taken up by Guylaine Tremblay.
Some good lines in “Les nouvelles du Téléjournal Ici TVA”, with Richard Martineau’s prostate, happy to have gotten rid of it, and the real Martineau who vilifies -. “I can’t wait for Poilievre to come back and put the ax in there,” said the Quebecor columnist, a wish perhaps premonitory.
We can also say that we were quite nice to Pierre Poilievre, parodied by Guylaine Tremblay and tirelessly repeating the name of Justin Trudeau in the game of name stuck in the forehead.
It was necessary to remember Watatatow to better understand his parody, “Watabedford”. “No need for sexuality lessons, I learn everything from my DPJ worker,” said a student, referring to the Bedford school scandal.
Not the best either, the parody of “What talent?” will have paid the head of a Denis Coderre who no longer wants to leave the stage. Guylaine Tremblay was the best there as the desperate Anne Dorval, who fears that she will be found too intense.
In good times, Betelgeuse Betelgeuse became “Beetlegen” to parody Geneviève Guilbeault who returns with her third link project. Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse gave her best performance of the evening.
But I can’t say the same about the Boeing ad with Boom Desjardins, not funny at all, and the parody of 1995unnecessarily long.
Speaking of length, the happy new year wishes from the public dragged on this time, as if we wanted to please everyone.
For the rest, this is an edition which will not go down in history and from which we will unfortunately not remember much.
Too bad, when we know what this team has been capable of in the past.
LIVE FROM NEW YEAR’S DAY: TOTAL SURPRISES
Conversely, the France Beaudoin team once again outdid itself for its New Year’s Day special, perfect from start to finish. We had planned everything to impress this year’s kidnappers, Louis Morissette, Alexandre Aussant (Mona de Grenoble), Patricia Paquin and Marthe Laverdière, but also the many people who came to surprise them.
“I wanted to kicker 2024 with the rest of you!” said Patricia Paquin in mourning for her parents and dumped by her radio station a few days before the start of the school year. Release and reassurance flashed in his eyes during this rolling 90 minutes.
After a spectacular opening number, which will have to be seen again as there were good flashes everywhere, including Janette doing her centenary countdown in reverse, several numbers hit the target of surprise and emotion.
Involved throughout the evening, the families of the guests brought tears to their eyes each time.
We spoke frankly about masculinity in the most beautiful way, with inspiring examples of men, in turn surprised by those close to them, whether Patrice Michaud, Charles Tisseyre, Pierre-Yves McSween or Philippe Laprise, gathered in a powerful number around the little king by Ferland.
The women followed with equal intensity. After being surprised by her daughter Lunou, Luce Dufault saw Aretha Franklin’s granddaughter, Victorie, take over the legendary Respect.
For Michèle Richard, who took the stage with her sparkling cane, I will survive took on a new dimension.
“Crisse, how beautiful!” exclaimed Alex Aussant when he saw Marjo arrive to Provocative. What a voice too, this Katie Kadan, arriving from Nashville to surprise Mona.
See Christine Morency resume My feather things had something enjoyable. Evoking theHymn to love of Céline at the Paris Games, Scott Price clearly did not expect to see his three daughters singing Piaf’s masterpiece to him.
I could talk about Charles Tisseyre, singing Sun sun with his eclipse glasses. From Normand Marineau who came to wish “happy and happy new year”. By Marthe Laverdière, evoking her partner Minou, a little mistreated, but oh so loved.
And so many other things. This Live from New Year’s Day couldn’t have started the last evening of 2024 better.
INFOMAN 2024: EVEN MORE FUN
In turn bordering on perfection, Jean-René Dufort’s special is certainly among his best editions of recent years. Even extended by 30 minutes, this Infoman 2024 did not experience any downtime.
The most brilliant sequence of the evening was “Cléopont”, this peplum parody evoking the Queen of Egypt, with Geneviève Guilbault in the lead role.
“It is on the other side of the Nile, in Lévis, that Queen Cleopont has her most loyal supporters,” it was said of our local queen, imposing her third bond after having sacrificed it.
Without Justin Trudeau, who was to grant his annual interview on the day of Chrystia Freeland’s resignation, Pierre Poilievre had free reign, particularly skillful in his responses to Jean-René Dufort.
“We cannot be Prime Minister of Canada without going to Infoman», Launched the Conservative leader, who played the game.
As a tribute to our beloved Paul Houde, Nostradamouse made a comeback, predicting that Justin would be in the next election. But the guessing mouse has a pitiful batting average.
With the theme of the air of Why is the world without love by Mireille Mathieu, covered in metal style by Voïvod, we discussed the violence of the insults which oppose our elected officials in an evocative montage.
«[On aurait l’air d’]a club of politicians who protect themselves like a tribe of elites,” argued Pierre Poilievre to justify his attacks against Justin Trudeau and Valérie Plante. Nothing to convince the mayor of Montreal, nor Yves-François Blanchet, “confronted with a gang of bullies» in the House of Commons.
We even called on the chief adjutant of the ArmesThomas Dallaire (Frédéric Millaire-Zouvi) to discipline this gang of thugs.
To Poilievre, who is proposing to Donald Trump to instead transform the United States into the 11th Canadian province, Jean-René Dufort proposed the name South Saskatchewan, which made the very likely future prime minister laugh.
The host then stripped half naked to meet Philippe Katerine, the Dionysus of the opening ceremony of the Paris Games, “the craziest thing of his life”.
“Some stuck people have overdosed on diversity,” launched Jean-René in this tribute to the creativity and openness of director Thomas Jolly.
In a revealing exercise, Jean-René and MC Gilles tested how long fake construction sites would last on the streets of Montreal without being dismantled. “Two out of three ghost sites have become permanent,” lamented the host.
Valérie Plante was no less proud to receive her new “orange cone” boots, a gift from Infoman. For his part, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon saw his ego rewarded with this new title of “First Potential Successor Plamondon”.
