From July to September, L’Isle-Jourdain vibrated to the rhythm of significant events: exhibitions, historical celebrations and summer festivities.

The month of July was marked by the death of Alain Tourné, former mayor of L’Isle-Jourdain and president of the CCGT from 2001 to 2014. Municipal councilor from 1989 to 1995, then opposition councilor from 1995 to 2001, it leaves an important mark in local history.

Cédric Lisle unveiled his large-format paintings at the tourist office, offering the public an exhibition that was both remarkable and noticed.

The Campanary Museum inaugurated the exhibition Bells and percussions of the world, an event organized by the Friends of the museum to mark the thirty years of this emblematic institution.

In August, the city celebrated the 80th anniversary of the battles of L’Isle-Jourdain of August 19 and 20, 1944, paying tribute to the heroes of this period.

The summer balls livened up the Pyrenees esplanade for two months, bringing a festive touch to the season. Although postponed due to rain, the gourmet night market was a great success the following week. The MJC also contributed to the cultural excitement with an exhibition of large format sports photographs.

In September, Gers saw the birth of its ETRE school, supported by the Transition Citoyenne en Gascogne association. The sports and culture forum, in a renewed format and concentrated over one morning, attracted many visitors.

The museum was also the center of attention with a major exhibition dedicated to Claude Augé, a key figure in the town, on the occasion of the centenary of his death. Heritage days and Operation Raise Your Eyes brought together a large audience.
