Marc Coucke participated in the show “Ver van huis” on VTM. An adventure he won’t soon forget.

At the start of the year, Marc Coucke had already participated in the show “Mask Singer”. By embarking on the “Ver van huis” program with his daughter Chloé, he clearly stepped out of his comfort zone.

The concept of the show is in the title: the production dumps the participants far from home, without money and without phones, leaving them to manage on a daily basis to find the warmth of home.

Like three other duos, the businessman and his daughter were dropped off 2,500 kilometers from Belgium, in this case in Istanbul. They had to rely on the generosity of locals to hitchhike through the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and the province of Liège to return to their home in Hasselt.

A life experience

The duo had an extraordinary experience, whether in a tent or with the locals who hosted them: “Apart from having to look for food among stray dogs, it was fun. But what struck me the most, it’s the kindness of people in the poorest places. In Istanbul, on a Bosphorus bridge, we were lost, without knowing where to go. People kept offering us free food, to the point where we had to refuse it. ” declares Coucke, in comments relayed by SudInfo.

The president ofAnderlecht doesn’t regret anything: “We had nothing to prove, but it was important for our daughters to understand that, despite the difficulties, many people are generous. It’s a question of honor for my wife and me: teach our daughters that life is not easy.
