Their names are Karin Viard, Virginie Efira and Valérie Lemercier. Undisputed stars of French cinema, these celebrities have all chosen the charm of the capital to establish their place of residence. It is also not uncommon to come across them in the streets of Paris, and not necessarily in the most popular places.
Camille Cottin, Virginie Efira, Valérie Lemercier…: In which districts of Paris do French cinema actresses live?
The rest after the ad
Will Paris take its place as national capital of cinema from Lyon? If the Rhône-Alpes city remains the original city of the big screen, the Ile-de-France metropolis takes its place among the stars. We can no longer count the stars of the seventh art who have chosen to live in Paris. Living among the more than two million souls who populate the banks of the Seine does not seem to suit these celebrities. They sometimes even choose to live in the liveliest neighborhoods of our capital, as reported in the magazine AD in an article devoted to this subject.
This is for example the case of Camille Cottin. However, the old Asshole from Canal+ sees his fame far beyond the borders of our country. The Nespresso muse notably appears alongside Kenneth Branagh in his interpretation of Hercule Poirot during Murder in Venice. She also opposite Lady Gaga in House of Gucci. Her aura in the world of cinema has reached a sufficient level to allow her to become mistress of ceremonies at Cannes. A sumptuous upward trajectory but which has not disrupted the daily life of this purebred Ile-de-France native (she was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the outskirts of Paris). The forty-year-old who seems to succeed in everything even kept his childhood apartmentrue Montmartre, near the Grands Boulevards. An apartment, certainly chic in its interior and exterior, but nevertheless located in a very busy area, far from the tranquility to which many celebrities aspire. “I like this family mix, my daughter's friends meet in the square, it's really nice and at the same time, there are all these bars, these restaurants… In the evening, it's lively, there are lots of young people on the street” she explained to our podcast colleagues The taste of M.
Valérie Lemercier in the center of the city, Noémie Merlant, left bank
But Camille Cottin is not the only star to live in Paris. Valérie Lemercier, icon of French comic cinema (and incidentally the highest paid actress in France in 2012), also lives in a rather lively area, in the heart of Paris. The unforgettable Béatrice of Visitors resides in a large apartment adjoining the Palais Royal, not far from the Palais du Louvre or the splendid Opéra Garnier. The actress herself designed the design of her sweet home, going so far as to install ballet bars. No wonder for such an active woman, a former rider and today a lover of this sporting art. “It's a way of doing sport outside of gymnastics and aerobics clubs, which I find very ugly” she then confided has Paris-Matchin 1991, during one of his very first interviews. Since then, the star's life has changed, but not his passions.
The design of the apartments reflects a reality about the personality of their owner. The onesparkling and colorful, by Noémie Merlant, is no exception to the rule. The thirty-year-old, who revealed very surprising details about her sex life, still lives on the left bank of the Seine, in the 15th arrondissement, the one where she was born before growing up near Nantes. The actress, whose hair is currently dyed platinum blonde, chose equally bright colors for the rooms of your apartment : blue, green and red blend perfectly. A bold but successful choice, like those made by the thirty-year-old in her life, capable of starring in arthouse films like Warehouse or in a remake of the erotic but legendary Emmanuelle.
Virginie Efira in the 11th arrondissement, Géraldine Nakache finally reaches Paris
A little further from the center, we find Karin Viard, a striking and multi-awarded actress (three Césars). The former interpreter of Emma in High hearts lives in a large building located near the Place de Clichy and the Buttes Montmartre. Not necessarily the most popular area of the capital, but her apartment has a double advantage: it is quite far from the most lively areas of the 18th arrondissement, but above all it appears spacious for her and her family. According to its owner, it is an old renovated workshop.
A taste choice like that of Marina Foïs. The original Boulonnaise chose to settle in the 9th arrondissement, within a large Haussmann buildingan architectural genre hyper present in the most chic neighborhoods of Paris. The Franco-Italian actress who overcame two tragedies lives in a very “square” place: all her pieces have the shape of a perfect quadrilateral. No surprise to find Marina Foïs in such an apartment, she is only following family precepts. “My father comes from an Italian family where everyone was an architect or designer. So I grew up with something around taste, especially wood” she explains to our colleagues at Taste of M.
Wood for Marina, plants for Virginie Efira. The Belgian settled with her partner Niels Schneider in the 11th arrondissement of the capital. Don't talk to her about Haussmann, however, the former host preferred a building with twisted walls, giving the whole thing a certain charm. The only problem was the insulation: the parties organized by the glamorous couple did not please the neighbors, who complained about the noise.
Finally, our colleagues from AD mention in their article that Géraldine Nakache also chose animation. The native of Suresnes, in Hauts-de-Seine, preferred to join the Marais. By her own admission, the apartment in which she established her family life was her very first real estate purchase. Ely, his character in All that glittersdreamed of leaving Puteaux and joining Paris. Géraldine managed to reach the capital.
