Like a heady refrain, the same words come back every year when the month of December comes to an end: “happy new year and best wishes”. On this occasion, the editorial staff of 76actu interviewed personalities from Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) to find out what are their wishes for 2025.
Today, the host and author Laurent Ruquierwho spent his childhood in the Mare-au-Clerc district, tells us his wishes for next year.
A wish for yourself
It's difficult to avoid commonplaces when it comes to expressing your wishes for the year to come. “We quickly come across answers from Miss France”, says Laurent Ruquier, with humor “since everyone answers health or even peace in the world”.
Although he – all the same – wishes for health “especially at my old age”, he would also like his theatrical projects to come to fruition, in particular that of a musical comedy on Marx Brothers. Still at the helm of the show The Big Heads on RTL, the host already believes he has had a successful career.
I am going to remake the show Mask Singer (TF1), filming takes place in February. I don't have any particular wishes in television because I have already been very spoiled. I take what comes and I'm not waiting for that: if I do it, so much the better, if I don't, too bad.
Especially since his hobby horse is indeed the radio. Will he have a career as long as his predecessor Philippe Bouvard, 95 years old? Oh no: “You have to agree to stop before it’s too late. For oneself and for the listeners.”
Bio Express
Laurent Ruquier was born in 1963 in Le Havre and grew up in the Mare-au-Clerc district, in the upper town. Passionate about the world of radio, he was quickly noticed for his sharp pen. He made his debut on television in 1989 then behind the microphone two years later in the show “Close the window for the mosquitoes”. First at Europe 1, he then joined RTL in 2014. On the television side, he is at the helm of the show “On a tout être” then “On n'est pas couch” (France 2). He is also the author of 13 plays such as “If it had to be done again”.
A wish for Le Havre
For the host, things have changed a lot in the Océane city. “It's a little sad when I go back because I can't find certain businesses that I knew. The city center has evolved, the waterfront has changed a lot but we see closed establishments in the upper town, it’s sad.”
Although he admits that he does not return to his native land very often and hopes that the town will continue to develop economically, the host still wants one thing, and not the least: for the HAC team to remain in Ligue 1. ! Passionate about football, he is sure, by saying this, “to please many people from Le Havre”. Isn't it?
