It is a red and white truck, which contains inside a traveling museum, called MuMo, for “Mobile Museum”. This museum space of around thirty square meters offers a concentration of originals signed by big names in contemporary comics. Around ten visitors are already there and observing. The little ones are interested in books placed at their height.

Children and adults alike are invited to discover these comic strips on December 21 in Limoges (Haute-).

“We are not only going to have French or local artists. We also have designers of English, American, Serbian, Ukrainian, explains Candice Labrousse, cultural mediator at MUMO. The goal is to really show the diversity of the proposals. Each artist has their own language. The objective of putting all these different languages ​​side by side and being able to relate them.”

Since its creation in 2011, MuMo has welcomed more than 172,000 visitors. It meets residents by primarily targeting villages with less than 3,000 inhabitants and priority neighborhoods in the city. According to the museum, one in three children had never visited a museum before theirs. In partnership with the Frac (the regional contemporary art funds) of Poitou-Charentes, and the international comic strip city of Angoulême, the works presented sometimes arouse nostalgia.

Mathieu, resident of the neighborhood and is passionate about comics. He stops for a few moments in front of a board in particular, it is that of FRED, the author of the Philémon series, published in the 60s.

The MuMo will end its adventure in (Lot-et-Garonne), from December 30 to January 3. In Haute-Vienne, the museum has already stopped at Saint-Bonnet-de-Bellac and Dorat. The mobile museum will travel to the Val de l'Aurence district, in Limoges, December 26 and 27, 2024.
