INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) has revealed the population figures which will come into force on January 1, 2025. They correspond to the number of inhabitants calculated between 2016 and 2022, as provided for by law. Concerning the Crozon-Aulne maritime peninsula community of communes (CCPCAM), the trend is downward. There were 23,112 inhabitants in the territory in 2016, compared to 22,603 ​​in 2022. The intercommunity therefore lost 509 inhabitants.

Five of the ten municipalities in the community experienced an increase over this six-year period (Telgruc-sur-Mer, Argol, Landévennec, Rosnoën and Le Faou) and the five others, most at the tip of the peninsula, declined in population (Camaret-sur-Mer, Roscanvel, Crozon, Lanvéoc and Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch).

Among the municipalities which are increasing the most in population, in terms of percentage, Le Faou is at the top. With its 1,882 inhabitants in 2022, the municipality will experience a 9.6% increase in inhabitants between 2016 and 2022. It is therefore one of the municipalities which are making the most progress in . Followed by Rosnoën (4.4% in six years), Argol (3.3%), Telgruc-sur-Mer (1.9%) and Landévennec (0.9%).

  • 3… and in number of inhabitants gained

    In terms of number of inhabitants too, the commune of Faou is at the top of the communes which have gained the most between 2016 and 2022 across the entire community. The seat of the parliamentary office of MP Mélanie Thomin thus gained 165 inhabitants. In comparison, Landévennec has only won three.

  • 4 -9.6% in Lanvéoc

    Within this intermunicipality, it is Lanvéoc which is losing the most inhabitants in percentage terms, in proportion to its number of inhabitants (1,951 in 2022). The commune recorded a drop of 9.6% in its population between 2016 and 2022. Behind it, in descending order: Pont-de-Buis (-7.8% in six years), Camaret-sur-Mer (- 5 .3%), Roscanvel (-1.8%) and Crozon (-1.7%).

  • 5 Pont-de-Buis loses the most inhabitants

In terms of number of inhabitants, on the other hand, it is Pont-de-Buis which takes the lead with a loss of 303 administered in six years. In 2016, the commune had 3,874 inhabitants, compared to 3,571 in 2022. Crozon, the largest town in the community of communes, lost 129 inhabitants between 2016 and 2022, going from 7,539 souls to 7,410.
