Everything you need to know about the printing press at the Balzac Museum

Do you know how a book was made in the 19th century? Or how the newspaper was printed before today’s methods appeared? The Malzac Museum at Château de Saché has all the answers.

On December 21, 28 and January 4, the museum invites you, in addition to visiting its premises, to discover how a printing workshop operated in the time of the writer Honoré de Balzac. And with a demonstration.

And for the Christmas holidays, your children will be able to decorate their greeting card printed directly on the press.

The activity will last between 10 and 15 minutes and will be accessible from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

You may have already visited the interior of the Museum of Fine Arts in Tours. But have you ever looked at what’s underneath?

On Sunday, December 15, the museum is organizing flash tours throughout the day to allow you to enter its underground space which contains a treasure of history. During a 30-minute visit, you will be able to see with your own eyes part of the Gallo-Roman enclosure of the city of Turons, built in the 4th century.

On December 21, 2024, the boutique specializing in the license of the famous wizard the Magic Cauldron is organizing a chocolate frog workshop at 10:30 a.m. Allow 12 euros per child (7 to 14 years old).
