“As Miss France, how would you use your voice to raise awareness among the French about the challenges linked to climate change?”: while it is completely topical, the question asked by Micheline Beaurain, Miss France 1970, has completely destabilized the young Miss Corsica, Saturday evening, at Futuroscope in Poitiers. Stella Vangioni remained frozen, visibly taken aback. An attitude that made the audience smile.
After a few seconds, however, the young woman recovered. “Good evening, thank you for this question!”, she said before once again pausing. “You know, like many things in life, I think it all starts with education. It is through education that we can raise awareness among younger generations about this subject which is so important, because we only have one planet. Let’s preserve it. We are not alone.”
The sequence obviously amused the Web and the jokes abounded.
Miss Corsica finally finished 3rd, behind Miss Martinique and Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Some found that the freshness of the Miss should have made her win. A former representative of the Isle of Beauty in the competition did not hide her anger. “I can’t get over it… She deserved more, it annoys me, NPDC (Nord-Pas-de-Calais) and the islands, they have to stop voting,” said Eve Colas, Miss Corsica 2017, and candidate for Miss France 2018.
A comment which obviously triggered a flood of disapproval, but the ex-Miss did not back down: “If my comment bothers you, that’s life, I’m not going to apologize. Our Miss Corsica had the perfect profile this year, I have the right and even more as a former representative to say that I am disappointed, and to gently complain that the other regions vote more. Don’t mind! Good night”.
Note that the public’s votes count in 50% of the final result and that it was Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais who was preferred by viewers, ahead of Miss Martinique, Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Corsica and Miss Côte d’Azur. .
