The pair revealed the next release date of this sure value of French literature, champion of all categories of book sales in . The publication of the new issue has been set for October 23, 2025, approximately two years after the last album, “L’Iris blanc”, which sold 2.2 million copies in the French version and was printed in 5 million abroad.

An edition dedicated to travel

If the title of this album has not leaked, the first elements of the next plot have been revealed. The 41st album of the two most famous Gallic adventurers will remain in tradition and alternation, imagined by the duo René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. So after a volume devoted to adventures inside the village, the next issue will give pride of place to travel, particularly abroad. If the destination has not been revealed, the two authors have given some clues, namely “a unique country with sunshine. »

At the same time, new characters, caricatures and of course references to current events were imagined by the duo of authors. According to the latter, this 41st volume is at a well advanced stage since the scenario and the sketches are about to be completed. The designer Didier Conrad will soon begin the inking stage. While waiting for the official release, the duo has published a previously unpublished cover from the next album.

A year 2025 rich in perspective

Between now and the publication date, the Gauls news promises to be very rich since Netflix will unveil an animated series in February, adapted from Combat des Chefs and fashioned by Alain Chabat. For its part, StudioCanal is already working on the next film adaptation of the character. An animated feature film is planned for 2026, based on a new story and entitled Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia. Something to delight the most fervent fans.
