An unusual story of friendship at the origin of this promising rock group in Lot-et-Garonne

It’s a friendship story who gave birth to this music group in Nérac. Théo, Fabien and Thibaut met at music school and have since developed a unique bond which led them to form the very bluesy English rock group, Alcman. They took out their premier album November 23, 2024.

A story of friendship at the origin of the group

After a first musical experience with Kassidy’s, Fabien Zagni, Theo Serres et Thibaut Sarion form the Alcman group. They chose the title collectively, Alcman, a Greek lyric poet who wrote hymns to marriage. A theme that resonates for the band members. “Friendly and romantic relationships, the stages of human relationships, interpretations are the major subjects of Alcman’s titles” confides Théo Serres to whom we owe the lyrics.

Between them, it is a story of friendship which dates from their meeting at the Albret music schoola story of “musical cohesion” between music enthusiasts and more particularly rock enthusiasts.

We find Thibaut on drums, Fabien on bass and Théo on guitar and, something new, on vocals. “We share the same musical tastes and we have common references, the chemistry was quick. Our group life is like a married lifewe spend a lot of time together, between laughs and shouting matches, this relationship inspires my texts.”

A decisive meeting for a first album

In September 2023, the group released the song « Past Times ». Here is the album of the same name, nine tracks which are inspired by English rock and blues, Rival Sons or Arctic Monkeys or even Tyler Bryant.

The trio also has in common a meeting with the Neracais Michel Françoisehimself a musician, author, composer and producer (Francis Cabrel, Daguerre, Souad Massi…). ” It is a 100% Neracais albumit was recorded in Michel Françoise’s studio. Tom, his son, worked on the music videos, photos and album cover.”

Alcman now dreams of presenting his album on stage, of sharing with the public. “We are starting to look for dates and scenes, an important date is set for February 8, 2025we will present our album on the stage of the Espace d’Albret in Nérac.”
