INTERVIEW – Representative of the Burgundy region, Clara Diry is participating in the beauty contest this Saturday evening, live on TF1. She is also the sister of the third runner-up to Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, whom we met at Futuroscope.
From our special correspondent, at Futuroscope, near Poitiers,
She drove more than four hours to support her little sister. Five years after her participation in the Miss France competition, Sophie Diry27, is delighted to see her younger daughter Clara try her luck in the election broadcast this Saturday evening on TF1, representing Burgundy. We met the third runner-up of Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, on the eve of D-Day, in a hotel near the venue of the evening, at Futuroscope. She is surrounded by her parents, Jean-François and Ida Diry. “Already two Miss Burgundy come from our village of Saint-Agnan with 700 inhabitants, that's not bad», Proudly says the father, a metallurgical technician. While their daughter, a model specializing in communication and influence (she is followed by 30,000 people on Instagram), does not hide a certain anxiety in this role of companion. Encounter.
TV MAGAZINE. – What state of mind are you in?
Sophie DIRY. – I'm more stressed than I was five years ago! Being an accompanist is much more stressful than being on stage. It's not easy. I realized what my parents went through for me. And let them live again (laughs). It is an immense joy to see her participate in Miss France. It’s exceptional to share this experience with her.
How does your sister Clara feel a few hours before the election?
It's been three days since I spoke to him on the phone. Yesterday was a big day: rehearsals for the ceremony with the recording of the regional table in the evening. She is super happy, like a fish in water. She lives the adventure 200%. It has the advantage of having anticipated all the negative aspects such as fatigue. I had prepared her for it. There was less pressure.

What advice did you give him?
For his plane trip to the Ivory Coast, I told him to sleep and not bother watching movies! I also advised him not to expose himself too much to the sun. During my preparation trip to Tahiti, we took a catamaran trip and I fell asleep for an hour. I got a sunburn, I burned my lips which swelled and had blisters. It was awful and painful. I was panicking. Fortunately, the blisters disappeared before the prime. Besides, I also help Clara with her social networks, that would take up too much of her time.
How old was your sister during your Miss France adventure?
She was 16, she was in second grade. Unlike me, Miss France is a little girl's dream for Clara. We always watched the election on TV. Her Barbies were Miss France! It was certain that one day, she was going to register. My participation in the competition reinforced her idea. When I performed with Clémence (Botino, editor's note), sometimes I took Clara. She really saw Clémence’s daily life and work. That’s when she really realized the reality of the job. She saw behind the scenes, beyond the glitter.
What relationship do you have with her?
We are very close despite being six years apart. We call each other on FaceTime every day because I live in Paris and Clara is in Lyon for her management studies in international law. Since we are both adults, we share a lot of things. The last time I saw her was on November 14, when she left for Paris for preparation. With our parents, we accompanied her as they had done for me five years ago.
What are its strengths in the competition?
She is super energetic and determined. When Clara wants something, she does everything to get it. For the record, when we were little, I wanted a cat and she a dog. Well, we have a great Newfoundland named Mango (laughs). She had my parents worn out. She is also very complete: both beautiful, intelligent and joking. She got 11.5/20 on the general knowledge test, the fourth best mark.

Who is Clara Diry, Miss Burgundy for Miss France 2025?
And its little flaw?
Maybe me. In fact, our lineage is double-edged. It helps her a lot, but she received a lot of criticism on social networks. Some saw it as favoritism. At the time of the departmental and regional elections, we read: “it's normal that she won, her name is Diry“. She is expected around the corner.
This is not the first time that two Burgundian sisters have participated in Miss France several years apart. Lou-Anne Ltemporel tried her luck in December 2020, eight years after the coronation of her sister Marine.
We laugh about it a lot between us. I am very good friends with Lou-Anne. I told my sister that she had to win to reproduce symmetry. Lou-Anne and I are both runners-up.

How will you react if your sister wins?
With many tears of joy! I would be the happiest and proudest. I would feel like I was winning too. There is no competition between us. People often ask me if I want my sister to do better: obviously. His journey will not change anything about mine and vice versa.
What memories do you keep of your Miss France adventure?
An exceptional memory. Even though I didn't win, Miss France really changed my life. Before, I was studying biology-biochemistry, and finally, I took a gap year and discovered communication and the press. I loved it and eventually moved on to a Masters in Communication. I worked alternately at TF1, I was community manager for the TFX and TF1 film series channels. I created content to promote programs like “Moms & Famous”. Today, I do freelance communications, modeling (for ready-to-wear and beauty) and influence.
What is your Top 5 for this election?
Burgundy obviously in first position (laughs). Then, Guadeloupe which has good energy and it is a region which votes a lot. I would also put Tahiti which I find very elegant, Côte d'Azur and Aquitaine.
