Son of an actor, actor, director, singer, Marc Jolivet started his career in the 70s. It was in the 90s that he triumphed with several one-man shows. A lover of culture, the comedian is also a true epicurean at heart.

City of 1000 fountains, Capital of the Counts of Provence… There are many nicknames to describe the city of birth of the painter Paul Cézanne.

Among one of his favorite addresses: “L’atelier du Japon”. Here, we taste dishes straight from the land of the rising sun, like the famous mochis. These famous Chinese pastries, prepared with glutinous rice flour, are flavored with every possible flavor imaginable. Mathilde Bouvier, the store manager, trained directly in Japan before opening her own store in 2020, in Aix-en-Provence.

Return to the local after this trip to the other side of the world in Marc Jolivet’s favorite organic store: “Ma Terre”. A committed ecologist, he comes there regularly to pick up his vegetables which come from a maximum of 200 kilometers away.

We often say that organic is sad. It’s the opposite here. The vegetables are laughing, everything is alive, everything is having fun.

Beyond the environmentalist values that Marc Jolivet shares with the entire team of “ My Earth », they are also driven by sharing laughter, joy and good humor. Which sometimes leads to quite talkative situations, such as an improvised dance and song on the occasion of the squash festival.

Commitment is always at the center of Marc Jolivet’s concerns. This is why he wants to salute those of others, such as the firefighters. Thanks to his friend Stéphane, the comedian discovered this universe which fascinates him, particularly in relation to the dedication of the men of fire.

At the Aix-en-Provence barracks, one of the largest barracks in France and the first in Bouches-du-Rhône, Marc Jolivet goes for an immersion in the profession of firefighter. And because laughter is never far away, the comedian decides to create a tailor-made sketch to show all the work done by firefighters throughout the year. A good way to send clear messages and highlight the men in the shadows who take risks to save lives. Saving lives, in fact Marc Jolivet will get down to it by learning first aid procedures. Less than a third of French people have received first aid training, firefighters are therefore very active throughout the country to train civilians.

In the Bibémus quarries, Marc Jolivet takes his partner Julie to discover the foundations of Aix-en-Provence. Because it is thanks to these ocher rocks that the city was built.

Today, Provence stone cutting is very rare. David Campbell arrived in France 40 years ago. He lives in the small house in the heart of the quarries where there is no electricity, which allows him to still work in the tradition of the tailors of yesteryear.

This magical place also has a rather special cabin, that of Cézanne. He left Tholonet and went up on foot with all his equipment. The reason he came here? The splendid view of the Sainte-Victoire mountain that the artist painted no less than 96 times.

This is the cabin of Paul Cézanne who ultimately slept very rarely in this place, because he was very attached to its comfort.
