“My family has experienced many losses this year. My father endured with dignity. Seeing him cry in the cemetery when we buried my brother Christopher, just after he lost his wife, was a moment I will never forget,” the Madonna wrote on Instagram.

The 66-year-old diva shared a carousel of beautiful photos of her family taken in nature during the emotional event.

We can see the singer there with her father, Silvio Ciccone, and her six children: Lourdes, Rocco, David Banda, Mercy James, and the twins Estere and Stella.

Madonna says spending time with her dad and all her children over American Thanksgiving “was healing for the soul.”

“We are born into families and we create our own. Over time, I increasingly appreciate these microcosms of life that dance around me and teach me lessons every day,” the star continues.

Madonna paid a long and poignant tribute to her brother Christopher Ciccone, who died at the age of 63 from cancer, on her Instagram account on October 6. “He was the closest human to me for so long,” she said.

About ten days earlier, the interpreter of Vogue had been struck by grief with the death of her mother-in-law, Joan Ciccone.
