The Dutch Institute in Morocco (NIMAR), in partnership with the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), is organizing the second edition of its monthly Café Littéraire series, dedicated to Dutch-Moroccan writers. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., at Café La Scène, in Rabat.
This edition will welcome Chafina Bendahman, author and cultural entrepreneur, known for her initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive and little-known stories. Founder of ROSE Stories, an artistic platform which, since 2014, has highlighted bicultural talents through theater, cinema and literature, she is committed to diversity and inclusion in the arts. Her flagship projects include Milk & Dates and Evening Stories for Rebel Girls – 100 Extraordinary Dutch Women, works that build bridges between cultures and invite reflection.
A trained screenwriter, Chafina Bendahman has also contributed to several popular Dutch shows like Kassa! and De Wereld Draait Door. Her literary works, appreciated both in the Netherlands and in Morocco, make her a key figure in intercultural dialogue. During this meeting, she will share her experience and address the issues of diversity and inclusion in the cultural sector.
This initiative by NIMAR and CCME illustrates their common desire to promote the cultural contributions of the Moroccan diaspora. The Literary Café is free and open to all literature enthusiasts.
