Youssoupha returns with a new single after three years of absence

Discreet since the release of his album “Neptune Terminus” in 2021, the artist makes his return with a new song, accompanied by a clip with the young rapper Zequin, in the form of a passing of the baton.

Three years after the release of his album Neptune Terminus Youssoupha returns with a new single, Zequin Theory. For his return, the leading artist and lyricist of French rap has opted for an original strategy.

He has in fact chosen to step aside and make way for the rapper Zequin, in the clip accompanying the song. It is therefore this young talent from the rap scene, who sings and plays the song in playback. A way for Youssoupha to highlight the new generation, but also to pay tribute to Zequin.

The latter had cited the interpreter of My King as an example in an interview with the media Pépite and these statements were also added in the intro and at the end of Zequin Theory.

“I want to quote a sentence from Youssouph who says: ‘The opposite of love is not hatred, it’s indifference’. (…) When you put hatred on someone “one is that in a certain way, there is real love,” Zequin confided in this interview.

Tour planned for 2025

Youssoupha’s latest album, Neptune Terminuswas released in 2021. On this record, the rapper was notably surrounded by artists Gaël Faye, Dinos and Josman. He also participated, the same year, in the album The Organized Classicoinitiated by Jul, which brought together more than 150 rappers from Bouches-du-Rhône and the region.

Quite discreet since then, Youssoupha is making his return this year with a tour through and Switzerland. The rapper will perform to a sold-out crowd at La Maroquinerie in Paris on November 11 before visiting (January 18), (February 1) and (May 16) in 2025. He will close this series of shows with an Olympia on April 12, 2025.
