The singer, who never comments on the French political situation, published an unequivocal message to express her opposition to the National Rally.

Aya Nakamura comes out of her reserve. The singer, who never comments on the political situation, published this Tuesday on X an unequivocal message to demonstrate her opposition to the rise of the National Rally during the legislative elections.

“I am well placed to understand and know the place of racism in our country. They are the same people who get pissed off when we shine because we haven’t finished shining,” explains the Franco-Malian artist.

“And yes, I am discreet on these subjects, sometimes we don’t feel relevant and legitimate enough to speak and say the right things on areas that we master. That doesn’t mean that we don’t have an opinion, eh,” she added before concluding:

“Now I understand that my position as an artist requires me to speak out, because it is an important moment for all of us. So on Sunday we will all go and vote, and against the only extreme to condemn because there is only one.”

“That would be so hypocritical.”

Aya Nakamura had commented on the political situation on Monday in two messages that she has since deleted: “Yes, fuck the RN etc. but stop asking me to go into subjects that I myself do not understand.”

“That would be so hypocritical of me, chpa,” Aya Nakamura added, specifying that she would be voting for the first time in this year’s legislative elections.

In the first round of the legislative elections, the National Rally, led by Jordan Bardella, came out on top with 33% of the vote, ahead of the New Popular Front and Ensemble, the coalition of the presidential majority.
