Productions of the National Radio and Television Corporation were dedicated, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the closing of the Arab Radio and Television Festival.
This event organized, in the city of culture in Tunis, by the Arab States Broadcasting Union under the slogan “Support for Palestine”, rewarded these works in the two categories of humorous series and television programs for their production and quality innovation.
Thus, the SNRT won, in the official competition of television programs, the first prize, in the category “From the Arab world – Popular arts”, for the program “Essaken Dati”. This documentary produced by the Al Aoula channel is designed by journalist Khadija Rachouk in collaboration with the zajal poet, Zhour Zrayek. A work which highlights the rituals and customs of “Tagnaouite” in Essaouira by offering the viewer television material in a well-crafted scenario and which tells a story full of suspense from the beginning. All full of pleasant shows and punctuated by “gnaoua” music against a backdrop of beautiful landscapes of the city of trade winds.
As for the official television competitions of the 24th edition of this festival, SNRT won the second prize in the category of comedy series for the work “Ach Hada”. This work, produced by the family channel par excellence “Al Aoula” and directed by Safae Baraka on a screenplay by Hicham El Ghafouli, Mehdi Chihab and Mohamed El Kama, brings together a cast composed of Abdellah Ferkous, Abdessamad Miftah El Kheir, Souad Khouyi, Sahar Esseddiki and Mounia Lemkimmel. This production, broadcast last Ramadan, gives free rein to humorous scenes inspired by everyday situations.
These awards to SNRT productions were awarded by a jury of the radio and television competitions via an electronic verdict from the Union whose general administration has entrusted this mission to independent and competent experts in fiction, programs and information from the Arab countries.
These festival radio competitions are distinguished by their credibility and objectivity when evaluating the candidate works. Criteria which are part of the moral values of this Arab media, artistic and technological event organized as part of radio and television competitions in all categories.
This festival alone is considered one of the most authentic events in the Arab world. It is currently in its 43rd year. As it is one of the activities usually organized by the Union, which has been considered a professional organization specializing in media since its creation in 1981. As part of the Institutions of Joint Arab Action, this Union brings together all the Arab radio and television broadcasting bodies, such as the SNRT.
This festival also aims to contribute to the development of Arab radio and television production as well as its promotion in order to better support audiovisual changes. This event is also intended to create communication bridges, establish collaborative links, exchange experiences between participants, stir up the spirit of fair competition, anchor constructive and objective criticism to achieve quality Arab production.
