Meeting with Creusois Noé Houssard, new recruit of the prestigious Cours Florent

A student at the Cité scolaire d’Aubusson in Creuse, young Noé Houssard, 17, has just joined the “free class” of the prestigious Cours Florent.

Noé Houssard, like 110 of his classmates from the Cité scolaire d’Aubusson, performed on the main stage of the Jean-Lurçat theatre for the end-of-year performances.

Noé, 17 years old, final year student specializing in theater and theater option, undoubtedly had a light heart. He had in fact just learned that he was admitted to the prestigious Cours Florent, in Paris, in the very famous “free class”. There were 1,500 candidates, only 19 could be accepted.

No predisposition to the theater

François Florent created the course that bears his name in 1967. The school today benefits from an international reputation, in particular the “free class”, directed for a time by Francis Huster, who trained some of our best actors and who prepares for the entrance exam to the National Higher Conservatory of Dramatic Art.

Noé Houssard’s passion for theatre is recent. It dates back exactly two years. He was, in his words, dazzled by the performance of his high school classmates on the Scène nationale d’Aubusson. So, he enrolled in Première spécialité théâtre, he continued in the final year and next September, it will be the Cours Florent for two years.

In Felletin, he did not grow up in a family environment immersed in the theater even if, as a child, he liked to create characters. He attended shows at the Jean-Lurçat theater as part of his schooling. And then, there was this spark when he saw his friends on stage…

His passion for theater was confirmed over the months. He worked a lot, supported, at high school, by the actress and director Maloue Fourdrinier.

His model? “Perhaps Pierre Niney”

At the Francophonies festival in Limoges, a speaker advised him to apply for the entrance exam for the “free class” (the most prestigious in the school and which, unlike the others, is free) at Cours Florent. He passed three auditions, the first in front of teachers from the school, the second in front of actors and the third in front of members of the Comédie Française (some of whom came from this class).

“My big dream is to become an actor,” admits the teenager. No, I don’t have any particular attraction to any repertoire. This year, at the Aubusson National Stage, we played everything. My model ? Perhaps Pierre Niney also came out of the “free class” at Cours Florent.”
