“This musical tribute, whose message is as consoling as it is hopeful, will not be sad and will bring together a core group who came to play here once a year,” confides Gabriel Wolfer, president of the Pro Musica Foundation and curator of the Ahrend organ, installed in the Jesuit church. Passion communicative
As a reminder, Michael Radulescu died at the age of 80, following a neurological illness. Organist, conductor and composer, he left his mark on the region through the Bach Academies. Organized once a year by Pro Musica, then by the Axiane Foundation, these academies were directed by Michael Radulescu for 30 years, from 1989 to 2019. They brought together dozens of musicians around the interpretation of the work of Johann Sebastian Bach. Some came from very far away. “There was a lot of conviviality during these training weeks. The entire stock of beer from Les Deux Clefs went there,” laughs Gabriel Wolfer. “Michael Radulescu was very attached to local values. »
Born to a Romanian father and a German mother, the internationally known musician also participated in the influence of the Ahrend organ.
A world first
A recital dedicated to Bach bringing together Michael Radulescu’s assistant in Vienna, now a professor in London, Bine Katrine Bryndorf, on the organ, and Aureliusz Golinski, on the baroque violin, will open on Saturday at 8 p.m.
