The Baroque Tribunes association pays tribute to Michael Radulescu. The conductor and musician died a little less than a year ago after having left his mark on Porrentruy with his passion for the music of Bach. For thirty years, the Austrian passed on his know-how during the Bach Academies in the Jesuit church. This Sunday at the same place, it is his son Nicolas Radulescu who will conduct an orchestra and a choir, composed largely by friends of his father. The first rehearsal took place Tuesday afternoon. Apart from major pieces by Bach, such as “Magnificat”, Michael Radulescu’s latest composition will be performed for the first time. Nicolas Radulescu chose to include “De Lumine” in the program: “I thought that for my father’s farewell it was a good idea to finish this piece by singing it here in Porrentruy”. The other pieces selected are decidedly bright, because Michael Radulescu was optimistic by nature and sought light. After a death, “my father said life goes on”.
It was important for the president of the association Gabriel Wolfer to organize a concert in tribute to Michael Radulescu in Porrentruy, a town that was dear to him. The conductor also contributed to his fame in the world of classical music, through the Ahrend organ of the Jesuits. An instrument which will be highlighted on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. by Bine Katrine Bryndorf. The brilliant student of Michael Radulescu will present a recital dedicated to Bach. The next day, at 5 p.m., still at the Jesuits, Nicolas Radulescu will conduct a choir and an orchestra for the tribute concert. Information to be found here. /ncp
