Innu singer Florent Vollant announces the return of his traditional Holiday Show at the Salle Jean-Marc-Dion in Sept-Îles on December 18. As in the past, he will be accompanied by several collaborators, including Paul Daraîche. It will be a unique festive evening, assures Mathieu Mckenzie of Studio Makusham.
The show will begin with the launch of the first EP from the father and daughter duo of Matthiew and Laurence Jourdain from Maliotenam. “It offers a style different from other Innu groups with more pop music,” describes Mathieu Mckenzie.
The latter has just spoken with Paul Daraîche who says he is excited to participate in a cultural exchange with the Innu of Maliotenam and Florent Vollant. The Holiday Show has won over an audience of Innus and Septilians to sell out almost every year. It finances the fixed costs of the studio founded by the singer-songwriter and former member of the group Kashtin.
“Florent is in good shape. We are in great demand. He offered several shows in the summer, before taking a break this fall. We have big things coming up in 2025,” specifies Florent Vollant’s son, Mathieu Mckenzie. Leader of the group Maten, Mathieu has just completed a 21-day tour in Ontario.
Tickets for the Holiday Show by Florent Vollant and his guests have been on sale since Monday noon at the Innu Grocery Store in Maliotenam, the Innu Station in Uashat or at the Salle Jean-Marc-Dion in Sept-Îles.
