The French capital was the scene of a “sausage parade” this Sunday, November 17. This walk on the banks of the Seine brought together several hundred dachshunds.

The dachshund, commonly called the “sausage dog”, has been very popular in recent years. Such success that the masters of these dogs with particular proportions organize gatherings, called “Sausage Walk”, or “Marche des Saucisses” in French, in different parts of the world. Last September, Geneva had its parade.

This Sunday, November 17, it was which suffered an invasion of sausages on legs in Paris, to the delight of tourists. A march was organized at the end of the morning on the banks of the Seine. The 5th edition of the Paris Sausage Walk was held on the banks in front of the Eiffel Tower, and it is still as successful as ever.

Hundreds of dogs (more than 500 were expected) and their owners paraded between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For the occasion, the friendly doggies wore their best outfits, ranging from elegant coats to sausage disguises. All varieties of dachshunds were present, from long-haired dachshunds to short-haired dachshunds, including all the colors specific to this species.

Coming straight from London, this friendly and festive event was created for a good cause. Indeed, even if the walk was free and without registration, sales were organized during the circuit to raise funds for the “dachshunds without a sweet home” association dedicated to the well-being and adoption of dachshunds.
