More than two years later Love is betterClaude Lelouch is back with a new film, entitled Eventually. In these two feature films, Elsa Zylberstein is cast. During an interview given to our colleagues from Matchthe one who lives in a superb apartment located on the Right Bank in Paris, returned to her collaboration with the director. Especially the first time he called on her.

It was for One more than onereleased in theaters in 2015: “It was one of the most beautiful shoots of my life. The script was written for Jean (Dujardin, editor’s note) and me. A love story in India, a country I didn't know. It was exceptional in truth, freedom, passion.“A lovely memory, certainly, although she found herself, for one scene, having to dive into the Ganges, a sacred but extremely polluted river.

Jean advised me to wear a diving suit. So I ask the costume designer for one. On the set, I looked like a bibendum. Claude then asks me to take it off and as I am a good soldier, I bathe in cold water. I found the water very pure, I dove in head first. I was sick for two weeks, I coughed… But otherwise How's it going !

Elsa Zylberstein, her meeting with Claude Lelouch

In this same interview, the one who has no children recounted her very first memory with Claude Lelouch, when she was only 18 years old: “JI have just started the Florent course and he comes to give a masterclass. I find him great, as an apprentice actress, I dream of filming with him. My father, who is a physicist, went to high school with Roland Topor and his gang… including Claude Lelouch. We write him a letter and arrange a meeting. The day before the big day, I go with my best friend to the mountains, to get tanned, to look good. But I'm not tanned at all, I'm scarlet. My head is peony red. But Claude Lelouch was lovely. He said to me: 'Mademoiselle, it takes ten years to become an actress'.”

Since then, she has filmed for him several times, something which, we imagine, makes her very proud!
