After a very prolific career on television, Bernard Pivot died on May 14 at the age of 89. Cécile Pivot, the daughter of Bernard Pivot is the author
from the book The Taste of Others. In this work that she co-signed with her sister Agnès, she retraces the life of her father. For the occasion, Cécile Pivot spoke to the microphone of Sud Radio Médias, this Tuesday, November 12, 2024. For Valérie Expert and Gilles Ganzmann, she spoke behind the scenes of flagship programs like Apostrophes and Bouillon de culture.

The funeral of Bernard Pivot in his image
Questioned by Valérie Expert, Cécile Pivot also spoke about her father's funeral. Thus, she revealed that few people from the world of publishing and literature attended the ceremony in tribute to Bernard Pivot on May 14.
“With my sister, we had put in the death announcement that a tribute would be paid to her, so we are going to say that that is why they did not come to Quincié-en-Beaujolais, so we will excuse them. But it's not very serious, my father had a funeral in his image.” she declared.
She then continued: “There were still a lot of people there and there were people from Beaujolais, and personalities from all walks of life that he loved. And then, he wasn't fooled at all…“, she continued. She also corrected some erroneous information on the organization of Bernard Pivot's funeral: “He hadn't planned everything, but two or three things, he wanted Rachmaninoff music and a prayer, which my companion read at the cemetery, the rest we were free to do what we wanted and we did it in his image I think”, she assured.
