Dax and Mont-de-Marsan refuse to participate in the new version of Intervilles, reports France Bleu Gascogne Monday November 11. The cult show will return to France Télévisions in the summer of 2025 and for four evenings, but without cows. A culpable absence in the eyes of the two Landes municipalities.
The reason for this change is linked to the new host of the show, Nagui committed to defending the animal cause. The first return of Intervilles, in 2020 (ultimately aborted due to the Covid-19 pandemic), had already caused controversy in the Landes, for the same reasons.
“We were contacted by the production company, who confirmed the absence of cows” explains Julien Dubois, the mayor of Dax, at the microphone of France Bleu Gascogne: “This implies that they would suffer trauma by participating in Intervilles. Which is absolutely not the case. In this context, we declined the offer made to us”.
Also interviewed by France Bleu Gascogne, the mayor of Mont-de-Marsan agrees: “Intervilles without cows, it’s not Intervilles. It’s something else, it’s a fair, or some game show, but it’s not called Intervilles”takes offense at Charles Dayot, who was also the captain of the Mons team during Mont-de-Marsan’s third and final victory at Intervilles, in 2007.
