MVP made the decision to leave WWE earlier this year when his contract ended. As you know, he decided to join AEW with his clan, but why?
MVP was in attendance for ”Drop The Heat” and he said he made the decision because of the new management team at WWE. WWE has changed a lot internally following the purchase by the TKO Group and the departure of Vince McMahon, and it seems that MVP had no affinity with the new team in place:
”I didn’t want to re-sign and I made it known that I wasn’t going to re-sign because of the new management team that was in place.
When you change direction, no matter where you work, it’s good for some people and not for others. New people arrive, old people leave.
So I felt it was time to leave because the new management team wasn’t right for me and I wasn’t right for them.’
Obviously, the new team in place at WWE had a different vision for MVP and his partners. They made the decision to continue their adventure elsewhere and carry out their Hurt Syndicate project in AEW.
In this interview, MVP also clarifies that he is still not retired as a wrestler. He would like to have ”a few matches” and have one last match to retire for good. In the meantime, he loves this role of manager at the microphone. In conclusion, it would be possible to see MVP in the AEW ring if the storyline takes him in that direction.
