Last Friday, the talk-show Everyone is talking about it revealed his guests of the week: Christine Beaulieu et Véronique Cloutier for the film The Christmas Cyclone; The ex-diplomat Louise Blais and the journalist Alain Saulnier look back at Donald Trump’s electoral victory; Patrice L’Ecuyer; Claude Paquinacquitted after 41 years of 2 murders he did not commit, and his lawyer Julie Harinen; Mona de Grenoblefor his stand-up show Powder in the Eyes; The journalist Simon Coutu and influencers Julien Bournival et Joël McGuirk for the documentary Alphas.
And it is the invitation extended to these last two guests which made Internet users react, particularly on Instagram, deploring that these two men who have a masculinist discourse – subject of the documentary – have a place at the table at prime time, particularly in this American election week.
The sexology professional and content creator Anne-Marie Menard therefore launched a petition yesterday afternoon so that Guy A.Lepage and his team change the table. His request collected more than 3,500 signatures in two hours.
At the beginning of the afternoon, the popular Sunday evening meeting made a change for its guests:
«UPDATE: Tonight to discuss the documentary Alphasthe professor of political science and specialist in questions of feminism and masculinity, Francis Dupuis-Déri replaces Joël McGuirk, co-host of the Lucid podcast. Journalist @simoncoutu and entrepreneur and influencer Julien Bournival will also be present.”
The word “masculinism” is increasingly used in French to designate a conservative or reactionary social movement which claims that men suffer from an identity crisis because women in general, and feminists in particular, dominate society and its institutions.
