La Récuperie was born in June 2015, in Pleudaniel, near Paimpol (Côtes-d’Armor). We started out in the Kerantour business incubator, in a 180 m² commercial premises. We migrated to Lézardrieux, right next to the bridge. Very quickly, a need for more space was felt. And here we are now in the Lézardrivienne artisanal zone of Kerscavet, in a commercial premises of 370 m2 says Camille Geffroy, the kingpin of this associative structure, a volunteer for five years, before being employed by the association in October 2020.

On the same date, the success of the company enabled the employment of a second full-time employee. This second position is occupied by Valérie Guernec.

The two employees are busy in this vast room filled with various objects (lots of clothes, crockery, small furniture, decorative objects, floor lamps, bedding, but also books, CDs, paintings , works of art, sewing equipment, haberdashery, drawing and painting). There is a lot of work to sort through the items that are donated. We clean, repair, but we also give a second destination to some of them. Récuperie is creative recycling specify the members of the association.

“We give a second destination to certain objects”

It is in this state of mind that the association decided to host cultural events in its store. The idea is to highlight the work of local artists, writers, musicians, creators in a more general way indicates Camille Geffroy.

This is how the photographer Véronique de Torth was able to exhibit and explain her cyanotype work in September and the seamstress Zezette, from La Roche-Derrien, showed off her textile works made from recycled fabrics.

Friday November 8, 2024, the writer Alain Bohée came to present the Memorial to those who died for in the commune of Trédarzec, a book documented on the conditions in which 78 Trédarzécois died in combat during the two World Wars and the colonial wars. A work written with Maurice Le Ner. Several copies of the 60 published volumes are also on sale at the Récuperie, at the price of €15.

The association also invited a musician, bombarde player, Thomas Lotout. Founder of the musical group Titom, the young composer has lived in Trédarzec for three years. He will present his 6e album titled Return to dusk at the Récuperie, Saturday, November 30, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Recovery, open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
