To the question, “what name would you give to this new fresco? “, freshly produced at the Plœmeur Youth Center (Morbihan), Joséphine and Cassilde respond spontaneously « Yellow Picasso ». They participated with several young people in the creation of a work during their reception at Passeport (leisure reception for 11-14 year olds), during the All Saints’ Day holidays.
An achievement that can recall Picasso and Miró
This artistic project was created alongside the artist K. Liopé, with the help of their youth facilitator Gérard Valy. This achievement can, in fact, recall Picasso but also the Spanish artist Miró, who used primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and simple shapes, such as points, lines and organic shapes. Lorient-based artist K. Liopé is flattered by the comparison, but admits to having many sources of inspiration.
Exploring the artistic skills of young people
She is not unknown in Plœmeur since she had already created an exterior fresco on the walls of the Oxygène room. “ This new work is part of our global policy around graffiti and urban art, integrating these forms of expression as an integral part of the city’s cultural identity, explains Jean-Guillaume Gourlain, youth assistant. This new fresco at the Youth Center allows you to personalize the space by making it more welcoming. The decoration of the activity room of the Youth Center dated from a little less than twenty years ago. With the work of K. Liopé and a few young people, it now offers a pleasant and artistic environment for those who frequent the place. By collaborating on this artistic project, it is also an opportunity for our young people to explore their talents and develop artistic skills. »
