The day after the premiere of the film in the Un certain regard section, Monia Chokri and the actors Magalie Lepine-Blondeau And Pierre-Yves Cardinal had the honor of climbing the steps of the Palais des Festivals on Friday, early evening.

Third feature film by Monia Chokri (My Brother’s Wife, Babysitter), Simple as Sylvain was screened Thursday at the Salle Debussy of the Palais des Festivals, where it received a warm welcome from the public.

This is the second time that the Quebec filmmaker has presented a film at Cannes. Four years ago, his first feature film, My brother’s wifeand had won a Jury’s Favorite Prize in the Un Certain Regard section.
Simple as Sylvain tells the story of a 40-year-old philosophy professor (Magalie Lépine-Blondeau) who falls in love with an entrepreneur from the Laurentians (Pierre-Yves Cardinal) who is at odds with her way of life.
The film will be released in Quebec on September 22.
