I21 years old, 1.80m tall, sports body. Aymeric Brancourt, originally from Saint-Quentin, was crowned Mister Picardie this Saturday, November 9 in Beauvais, following a competition organized in the Jeu de Paume shopping center. The red carpet rolled out on the tiles of the shopping center is not worth the stage deployed at the Miss Picardie competition organized a month ago at the Élispace. But 11 candidates – sometimes registered by their partner – competed for the sash.
Gift cards, a three-day trip to Morocco and bouquets of flowers to be won… the competition clearly does not benefit from the financial resources enjoyed by its close cousin – the Miss France competition. But it is gradually establishing itself in the French landscape. This new edition was able to attract around twenty candidates for 11 selected. And the singer Sloane, president of a jury composed in particular of representatives of the City of Beauvais, was able to attract around 250 people around the event.
The show hosted by a former Miss
“Since I bought the brand in 2019, I have had to hand over around 200,000 euros to balance the accounts. But every year I put back less and less”welcomes François Deixonne. “You have to know how to be an orator”
« The idea of this competition is to elect the masculine ideal. It’s not a bodybuilding contest, it’s a contest where we choose shapely bodies with shapely heads », continues the chairman of the committee. On this point, Aymeric Brancourt met the criteria. A third-year Staps student, volunteer firefighter and photo model, this year’s winner had wanted to enter a beauty and elegance competition for three years. “To be Mister France, you have to know how to be an orator, you have to know how to make yourself understood. This election was great, there is a good atmosphere between us, we help each other whenœud butterfly is a little crooked »explains the young man, who would like to defend the fight against violence against women. “I think very strongly of Iris Mittenaere in particular (Editor’s note: Miss France 2016 and Miss Universe 2016) who recently had problems with her husband, I support her and I will support her, this is the cause I would like to support”.
Like its close cousin – the Miss France competition – the Mister Picardie election offers candidates the opportunity to parade four times, either in evening wear, shirtless business attire, or in boxer shorts. Two hours of show, in a relaxed and French atmosphere, where the candidates must carry and defend a cause to reaffirm during the Mister France election which will take place on January 25, 2025 in Paris. The winner of Mister France will then be “the volunteer gondola head” of this competition in search of notoriety; we will find him “at the Cannes Film Festival” or even at the Angoulême French-speaking film festival… And for the first time this year the competition should be “in balance” financial.
