The title grabs you: The Kidnapping of Sarah Popp. It evokes a kidnapping and yet ends gently, with the emergence of this cheerful name: “Popp”. It fits Rose-Marie Pagnard’s novel like a glove: its lively, electric style takes the reader on a wild ride without him ever guessing, until the end, where he will be led, or if it will end in the joy or pain (in joy, in reality, but deep, because weighted with pain). “Popp”, like the sound of the cork of a bottle of champagne – something violent but festive, which at the same time surprises, scares a little and delights.

A taste for adventure
