This year, neither the Sources Park nor the Horseshoe will be able to serve as a setting for the dance demonstrations of the Napoleon III Festivals, which take place from June 14 to 16, 2024. The progress of the restoration project does not in fact allow not to organize the arrival of the parade there, as well as the closing show.
This weekend, from Friday June 14 to Sunday June 16, Vichy will celebrate Napoleon III. Hundreds of participants in period clothing are expected there, for reconstructions, activities, and demonstrations. The Parc des Sources construction site, whose inauguration is scheduled for Friday June 21, has not yet progressed sufficiently to accommodate, as is usually the case, part of these festivities. As a result, the event program is partially modified, and in particular the route of the big parade organized on Sunday 16 in the city center.
The Napoleon III Festival is preparing its first “off” in Vichy
As usual, the parade will start from rue de Paris and will be punctuated by musical and dancing entertainment on the 4 Chemins esplanade and on the square in front of the Saint-Louis church.Route of the parade for the celebrations of Napoleon III in Vichy on June 16, 2024.
The new route will pass through rue de Paris, rue Clemenceau, rue Wilson, rue Lucas, avenue Eisenhower*, cross Boulevard des Études, to arrive at Imperial Park, Parc Napoléon III.
Another change in the program, the closing show of the parade, initially scheduled for 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Source de l’Hôpital kiosk, is canceled (the arrival of the procession in the Napoléon III Park, within Imperial Park, will not will therefore not give rise to a closing show).
On the other hand, you will be able to find the captivating choreographies of the costumed dancers of the parade, and those of the imperial couple, during the Grand Imperial Ball organized from 7 p.m. and until 11 p.m. at the Palais des congrès.
