Eki, the family court judge specializing in divorces who quickly won the hearts of viewers returns for a new season that is even more gripping and thrilling where mysteries, suspense and the quest for truth intertwine. What I’m Looking Forfamily affairs judge, is responsible for the high-profile divorce of showbiz star Dior’A, wife of wealthy businessman Francis Okumba. During the husband’s hearing, a detail reminds him of the suspicious death of his father in prison. Convinced that it is not a simple accident, she decides to reopen the investigation, despite the reluctance of those around her.

In his quest for truth, Éki plunges into a conspiracy combining judicial and mystical power.
Eki must maneuver between her mother Chantal who hides her game, Jérémie her lawyer friend who needs her help, her lover the prosecutor Hughes Madéké who monitors her, a new ally the forensic doctor Lazare, and the police officer Alex Ondo who supports her in his investigation motivated by his own quest. Between legal and mystical plots, Eki will have to choose between love, justice and the quest for truth.

Much more than a legal series

Although the Gabonese judicial system remains the backdrop for the new season, Eki 2 is a real thriller series where each episode is designed as a game of chess which plays out between the main characters. In each game Eki is faced with new challenges and new enemies, but guided by her strength of will and her intuition, symbolized by her father’s voice, she always stands up to her opponent. Eki is also a series that addresses the place of women in African society.

The creator, producer and performer of the main role, Nelly Obonowanted each female character to carry a message. Oct represents a multifaceted woman who fulfills herself through her work, her relationship, her spirituality. A woman who helps every woman find her place in life, and through that, she herself found her own place as a woman, as a judge, as a daughter. The character of Dior’Aperformed by the Gabonese singer Shan’lembodies the woman who makes the choice to assert her beliefs despite a powerful and rich husband. Through it, Nelly Obono develops the important theme of domestic violence against women by highlighting their fight and the courage they must have to not let themselves be hit, physically and psychologically.

Season 2 of EKI has twice as many twists and turns, surprises, adrenaline, suspense and strong emotions with an exceptional pan-African cast.
