This Friday, November 8 is rich in emotion for the Delon family, since Alain Delon would have celebrated his 89th birthday. A little more than two months after the disappearance of his famous dad, Anthony Delon took to his Instagram account to share a souvenir video. Images which show a Samurai in the privacy of his house in Douchy, talking with his son.
Anthony had gotten into the habit of visiting his father in the Loiret, “two Thursdays a month”. During one of these visits, on March 31, 2022, he filmed the retired actor questioning him about the importance of this little father-son tradition. “I hope I die on a Thursday like that,” Alain Delon responds to the camera, from his kitchen. “I hope so too!” But are you just saying that for fun? », Anthony reminds him. “No, no, it would piss me off to leave on a Wednesday. Let me know,” adds Alain Delon, laughing.

In the caption of his video unveiled this Friday, Anthony Delon explains: “A year has passed since the release of my book “Between Dog and Wolf” [publié en mars 2022, NDLR]. After grinding his teeth a little, he understood the point… Love, resilience, and above all forgiveness. He knew like me that we cannot make up for lost time, but that we can make good use of the time given to us. We then decided to meet in Douchy, two Thursdays a month to “establish this tradition” and to exchange, to leave a trace of us, a discussion, in a filmed document. A tribute film concert, on a symbolic day
After an end of life marked by illness, Alain Delon died on August 18, surrounded by his family in his beloved home in Douchy. As he had wished, this is where he was buried, alongside the many dogs who accompanied him throughout his life. Despite their differences, which focused on how to manage the end of their father’s life, Anthony, Anouchka and Alain-Fabien Delon were present at the intimate ceremony organized at the small chapel that the Cheetah had built on his estate.
Anthony Delon was also back in Douchy on Thursday, on the eve of his father’s sad first birthday. The 60-year-old actor took the opportunity to give news of the faithful Loubo, Alain Delon’s last dog, whom he now takes care of. He will return to Paris on Friday evening to attend the symphonic film concert “Delon the Last Samurai”, given at the Palais des Congrès with 80 musicians. An event which, in addition to paying tribute to Alain Delon, supports the Alzheimer Research Foundation. Alain-Fabien will also be present.
