The 26the René-Caillié Adventure Festival opened on Wednesday, with the inauguration which brought together many fans of adventure stories, ready to discover the 2024 vintage that the members of the organization have reserved for them.
For this opening six days of adventures, on foot, by bike, by boat or by sleigh, the trailer is enticing.
After the teasers for each film, spectators discovered the adventure of Élise and Léopoldine Desprez, who set out to meet equestrian peoples across the Kyrgyz and Kazakh plateaus. They received, for their book “Horsemen, the Kyrgyz Ride”, the René-Caillié literary adventure prize worth €2,000, which was exchanged with the public on the incredible richness of this adventure.
Fulbert Van Rooij, student in management of natural environments, winner of the René-Caillié scholarship, also took part in the stage game. Setting out with his teammate Matthias Colin for a naturalist expedition, they lived for several weeks alone on an inselberg peaking at 400 m in the heart of the Guyanese Amazon, with an ecological and scientific objective: to observe and inventory tropical fauna.
