Queen Camilla must cancel her official Queen’s engagements to treat a lung infection.
Queen Camilla is unwell and had to cancel several engagements this week. According to a statement from Buckingham relayed by the British royal chroniclers.
“Her Majesty the Queen is currently suffering from a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised her to take a short period of rest.”
“It is therefore with great regret that Her Majesty has had to renounce her commitments for this week, but she very much hopes to be restored in time to normally attend the events of remembrance this weekend.”
Long voyage
Camilla was due to attend the opening of remembrance celebrations at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, which run until November 17, in memory of soldiers who died in the First World War.
Camilla, the one who should not have been queen
She will also be absent from a reception given at Buckingham by the King, in honor of Olympic and Paralympic athletes, the same day.
Charles and Camilla returned last week from a long trip to Australia and the Samoa Islands. After this trip, Charles, still being treated for cancer, the nature of which is unknown, announced that he was going to resume traveling abroad.
During her convalescence, after the announcement of her cancer last February, the 77-year-old queen took care of part of her official commitments, representing him on multiple occasions.
