This Romande wants to find her love at first sight

watson will it help a couple form?

This Lausanne resident spotted a handsome guy on a CFF train, between Geneva and Lausanne. She’s been looking for him for two weeks already. To find him, she opted for a method that was as cheeky as it was romantic. We called him to find out more.

More “Entertainment”

For several days, this poster, as funny as it is touching, has been circulating on the networks. Some have also seen her in the streets of Lausanne.

Discovering it, we had the impression of finding ourselves at the heart of the plot in one of those old-fashioned but extremely comforting Christmas films, which we have been binging on TMC since the beginning of the month.

But who is this person who managed to put glitter in our eyes just before the holidays? Did his call find a response? We want to know everything. Neither one, nor two, we contacted the hopelessly romantic soul behind the missive.

SBB as a backdrop

At the end of the line, we discover a Lausanne resident with a frank and joyful mood. Marie* is a 35-year-old secretary and illustrator. Its story begins in public transport (yes, yes, the CFF can inspire something other than the desire to strangle an entire train), before bouncing back to Flon. No place, a priori, that one would associate with any romance, or with an ounce of positive feeling. And yet.

Sunday October 20, Marie is still in the fog, after a drunken evening the day before to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday. She gets on a train towards Lausanne. “I was well dressed, my hair was ok,” describes the illustrator.

Upstairs, sure! she plunges without expecting it into the eyes of a charming young man, already seated“more or less thirty, like me”. Mid-length hair, very straight, tucked behind the ears, small brushed mustache, British look with a false dandy air, dressed all in black and Doc Martens to complete the look: the unknown has a great effect on him.

The interest seems mutual:

“We exchanged a look, lasting at least 3 seconds. Three seconds is long and intense, all the same.”

But, whether shyness or convenience dictates, neither of them lets go of a smile, or even a word. After this eye contact who upsets her, Marie decides “instinctively” to settle down just behind the intriguing hunk. “I could see he was turning his head in my direction sometimes, but that was it.”

A second meeting

The Apollon then descends to Lausanne. Like Marie, who is heading towards the metro stop. But destiny is on her heels: Mr. Doc Martens is also there. Rebelote: sideways glances are exchanged, but no one comes out of their corners. “I didn’t want him to see me with that face.” Either way, explains the thirty-year-old, she knows it, deep down: they are going to see each other again. One way or another. She is therefore not frustrated when her potential soul mate arrives at Flon, while she goes further down.

Hours later, this chance encounter continues to hammer his mind. “He may have confused me with someone else,” muses the illustrator, who says she frequents the world of music. “I’ve never felt like this before. It’s a funny feeling, like we’ve known each other forever.”

Zurich posters that inspire

Remembering a poetic story published in watsonMarie makes a slightly crazy decision. She is preparing around ten small posters, a “wanted” letter from the heart, which she plans to post in Lausanne, in the Flon, Saint-François and station districts.

L’article watson in question, which inspired Marie:

On these, she explains that she fell in love with “the Lausanne-Geneva train”. His motivation?

“We only have one life. And I found the approach very funny”

The text in question reads:

“I liked you as soon as I saw you and I had the impression that it was mutual. Unless you were simply shocked to see my decrepit face due to a very drunken evening the day before (it was a friend’s 40th birthday, it was legitimate).

You got out at the Flon stop. Me, at Riponne. Since then, I’ve been thinking that I really want to invite you for coffee.”

This scenario is so much more romantic than the movies A mission for Christmas, A prince for Christmas, A baby for Christmas, A castle for Christmas, The Christmas concertand so on.

The suitor apologizes in advance “if these posters seem a little cringe”. But I promise, she assures…

“I’m not a sociopath like Kathy Bates in Misery”

No kidnapping in a cellar on the menu, then. We are all reassured.

Henry From wanted

Everything is approved by a sketch of the desired being. For his friends, the resemblance is striking:

“It’s Henri Dés. Or a Michel Blanc lookalike with hair.

Michel Blanc was best known for his role as Jean-Claude Dusse in

On the other end of the line, Marie laughs. “I wrote the text myself, but then, fortunately, my friends accompanied me to put up the posters. There were 4 of us on it!”

One of his relatives, moreover, assures him that she saw the guy in question again in Saint-François, “pale, dandy and taciturn”.

In addition to the paper version, an announcement is posted on a Facebook page dedicated to meetings in transport. “The page Spotted Public transport in French-speaking Switzerland republished my ad twice,” smiles Marie.

A future couple watson?

Did these multiple bottles in the sea bring the lost sailor back to the landing stage? Not for the moment, assures us the Lausanne resident with a moved heart. Apart from a surprised Internet user, who sent him an e-mail to salute his “funny and courageous” initiative.

As for the handsome stranger in the black velvet jacket, who knows if he doesn’t already have a significant other, who will have grilled him while passing in front of a poster. “Maybe they were arguing because of me,” Marie wonders, laughing.

If not, perhaps it will be thanks to this article watson that he will recognize himself. Marie already knows where she will take him: “to a café at the station, because it will be a symbolic place for us”.

Are you the mysterious young man on the poster? Don’t hesitate to come forward. You would be our first couple watson.
