For reality TV fans, he is known for his participation in the eleventh season of “Angels” in 2019. But for the police, it is in a case of “aggravated pimping in an organized gang” that his name emerges. Quentin R., former candidate for the NRJ 12 show, was arrested this Monday, November 4 at his home in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (Essonne), before being placed in police custody. But he is not the only one. Marika N., a 29-year-old Brazilian, was also arrested and taken into police custody in this case, according to information from Le Parisien.
It was anonymous information that put investigators from the DCT (organized crime division) of Essonne on the trail of the former reality TV candidate and this woman. According to this source, the couple, who reside in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, attracted women engaged in prostitution, originally from South America, “already in France or arriving with their help”, according to a police source.
Around twenty advertisements for prostitution
According to the first elements of the investigation, Quentin R. would have used his notoriety, acquired since his participation in 2019 in the show “Les Anges” – where he was known under the first name “Kentin” – to build confidence these women. Two of them, placed under the guardianship of the couple, regularly prostituted themselves in apartments in Essonne, rented on Booking or Airbnb by Quentin R. and Marika N..
But in addition, the couple would have “managed” around twenty prostitution advertisements on the “Sexemodel” site, keeping half of the profits generated for themselves. Investigations by DCT police officers made it possible to link the announcements to the IP addresses of the homes of Quentin R. and Marika N., located in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois.
To further confirm their hypotheses, investigators examined the bank accounts of the two suspects. According to them, since December 2022, the couple has received several significant inflows of money from South American women, some of whom are already known to the police as being victims of prostitution, or pimps. Significant amounts that Quentin R. and Marika N. kept, paying only a small part to prostitutes.
Criminal record
These elements led the DCT police officers to wiretap the couple. Surveillance which paid off, notably during a call received by Quentin R. from a man asking him “how many Brazilian women he had available with a residence permit”. The former candidate then replied that he “had around ten”, but that he “had to find out about visas”.
After several months of investigations, the couple was arrested this Monday, around 6 a.m., at their home in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois. The two suspects were placed in police custody for “organized pimping” as part of a preliminary investigation opened by the Evry public prosecutor’s office, Grégoire Dulin, the city’s public prosecutor, confirms to the Parisian. “The investigation is currently underway and police custody can last for 96 hours,” the prosecutor told Le Parisien.
Both 29 years old, Quentin R. and Marika N. are already well known to the police and justice services, with five registrations in the Criminal Records Processing (TAJ) file for the first and 3 for the second. .
