For All Saints’ Day, Anouchka Delon revealed on Instagram the text she read in honor of Alain Delon for his funeral. In her speech, the young woman paid tribute to “the man” and the father he was to her.
Anouchka Delon revealed on November 3 (24) on Instagram the handwritten text that she read at her father’s funeral after his death at the age of 88 last August.
On five blank pages beginning with “Exterior day. Zoom on the oratory”, the sister of Anthony and Alain-Fabien Delon addresses her father in a tribute incorporating several popular verses and songs and saluting the “immortality” of the “young wolf” and the “Cheetah”.
“Eternal rebel, you always did what you wanted, always liked to prove to all these idiots that they were wrong. How I would like you to prove us wrong once again, that you prove to us your immortality,” we can read, among other things.
In the caption of the post, Anouchka Delon reveals having shared this moment on the occasion of “All Saints’ Day, the Day of the Dead”. “Somewhere between two months without you, and our two birthdays without us…” she continued, referring to the actor’s birthday on November 8 and hers on November 25, which she will celebrate for the first time without Alain Delon. “My heart hurts at the thought of not being able to call you at midnight on the 8th. Hurts my heart not to hear your voice at midnight one on November 25th say to me: “Happy Birthday my Love”.”
The 33-year-old young mother then explained that she “offered” these pages to her father’s “public”, failing to be able to exchange real birthday gifts with him.
“I’m not going to be able to give you a present (at the same time you already had quite a few!). In this case I’ll make one for your audience. You would have wanted it,” she wrote. “So here is the text for him that I wrote to you last August 24, your mass. That day I read it only for you. So a little before time this time: “Happy Birthday dad.”
Alain Delon died on August 18 at the age of 88 and was buried on August 24 at his property in Douchy, in the Loiret.
