Myria, a small Hérault publishing house with big ambitions

Myria Éditions, based at Gigamed in Bessan, has just received the “Rayonne” trophy from the Hérault TPE Prize for its know-how which goes beyond borders. With immersive works, an inclusive model and a responsible approach, the young start-up is reinventing the codes of publishing.

The idea of Myria Éditions was born in 2021 but its story began before, in the adolescence of its creators, Alexandre Sanchez and Kévin Rolin-Bénitez. “At 13, Kevin launched a writing forum around video games and we worked together to grow it to three thousand active members, which was huge at the time!”says Alexandre. During this period, the two friends simulate an entrepreneurial environment: “We had prospects, we organized events, we managed communication…” An experience that will fuel their business project years later: a connected and interactive publishing house, which offers authors fairer remuneration and readers enriched experiences.

“Make reading accessible to all”

Myria specializes in the worlds of the imagination with enriched transmedia works. “Our goal is to make reading accessible to everyone, including dyslexic, ADHD or visually impaired readers by integrating visual, audio and fun elements.” For the founders, the immersive experience reconciles the interest of new generations of screen fans with the love of books. Labeled French Tech, Myria is also anchored in an eco-responsible approach: “We print in Europe, on labeled paper and with vegetable inks to minimize our environmental impact.”

“A small house that has all the makings of a big one”

Alexandre and Kévin have chosen to move away from traditional distribution channels dominated by expensive broadcasters. “We spent a year creating a model that better remunerates authors, with short distribution, without intermediaries.” Today, the house has around thirty international artists, partnerships with brands such as Fnac and Cultura, a collaboration with the Angoulême manga school and exclusive licensing projects for children’s titles. “We are a small publishing house that has all the makings of a big one” and whose studio also designs interactive experiences in augmented and virtual reality for tourist offices and museums in order to promote heritage. Myria plans to launch its Immersive Book platform in partnership with the Computer Science Laboratory of the University of in 2026. The idea: to make the creation of books enriched with augmented reality accessible to everyone.
