Beer lover or simply looking for a friendly moment? The Lille Beer Festival (BAL) opened its doors this Monday, November 4 at 1 p.m. for its seventh edition.

This year, 70 breweries from France, Europe and local regions will be present. Unlike the last editions which took place at the Lille Grand Palais, this time, the event will be held at Saint-Sauveur station. To fully enjoy this hopping week, here’s everything you need to know.

A week of events with 70 breweries

Before the big closing weekend, which promises to be lively like every year, the BAL offers numerous events to punctuate the week and welcome the 10,000 expected visitors. To open, the Syndicat des Brasseurs Hauts-de-France is organizing the launch evening for Christmas beers this Monday, November 4, accessible only by invitation or reservation.

After that, around sixty events will take place in around thirty locations across the Lille metropolis throughout the week. Evening presentation of Belgian Super8 beer at La Verlaine on Tuesday November 5, tasting of rare Cantillon at the Abbaye des Saveurs on Wednesday November 6 or even a live concert and craft beer at El Montuno on Thursday November 7: the full program is visible on the Super8 website. The Grand Final in Saint-Sauveur: food and entertainment

Although the week is full of events, it is only a prelude to the finale which will take place at Saint-Sauveur station on the weekend of November 9 and 10. In addition to beers, the Grand Final will host various food trucks and will offer culinary demonstrations provided by the chefs of the Tables & Toques gastronomic club. A brunch prepared by these chefs will also be served on Sunday November 10 at 12 p.m. (reservation required on the BAL website).

In addition to the tastings, the Grand Final offers numerous activities: tattoo parlor, free massages offered by physiotherapists, conferences, and even karaoke. For families, games will be available to entertain the children. This year again, the BAL saw things big!
